The Turkish Super League will be bringing us a small Istanbul derby between Kasimpasa and Fenerbahce this upcoming weekend.
Both sides are talented, but the visitors are certainly better equipped to win.
Fenerbahce are coming off of a dominant 5-2 home victory over Sivasspor thanks to their dedication, hustle, chance-taking and overall team performance gelling on the field. That performance was what they had been waiting for since the beginning of the season and of course against Arsenal in the UCL playoffs.
Finally, before that game, Fener was able to finalize the license that allowed the Swedish international Samuel Holmen to debut for the team. The midfielder hustled all over the field and went that extra mile for his team mates by recovering possession, passing precisely and dancing around opponents to make something happen. He actually seemed like the piece that was missing from this frenzied puzzle.
Kasimpasa is a team that recently signed Ryan Babel from Ajax. The player recently scored his first goal for the club in league play, which ended up being the winner at Konyaspor in a 2-1 score line. He performed very well in the final third and he truly was the difference in that performance.
Fener lost 3-2 at Konya on opening day and were frankly outplayed in the final 20 minutes. Kasimpasa were the better side in Konya for the most part of that match. However, this does not mean that Fener will not be bale to outplay Kasimpasa as every opponent in every game is different.
This is a game that Fener will look to win but Kasimpasa will not make it easy by any means. Either side can win this game, but the winner will be the one who creates the better chances and stays awake defensively.
