Fenerbahce Win Thriller on the Road

The fourth week of the Turkish Super League was closed out between Kasimpasa and Fenerbahce in a decent game. The hosts had their chances but the visitors created more, thus winning the match 3-2.

The man of the match clearly has to be either Caner Erkin or Pierre Webo. To choose between the two, Erkin has to be the one because he equalized off of an amazing free kick that curled in past a very tall Andreas Isaakson. He assisted on the second equalizer as his cross was headed home by Webo, who also would go on to score the late winner.

The home side were very composed and confident in the first half, but they could not connect on their opportunities in the second half, which is why a totally transformed Fener side took over in the final 45 minutes.

Coach Shota Arveladze was without influential midfielder Ozer Hurmaci for this one, while Ersun Yanal decided to leave striker Moussa Sow off the team sheet completely at the other end. Both players could have influenced this game a bit more.

Fener now sit in second place with nine points as they have now won their last three fixtures after losing on opening day in Konya. The most likely time they will be able to catch Besiktas is when they face them later on in the first half of the season.

Arguably, Fener are right up there in the title talks as they now seem to be in a form where defeating them will be very much difficult. Arch-rivals Galatasaray have been off their game with the UCL on their minds, and Besiktas are soaring as they have won all four of their matches.
