Besiktas visited Bursaspor in Week 4 of the Turkish Super League season and completely dominated them in an emphatic 3-0 victory. The home side tried to move the ball around and create chances, but the creativity of the visitors, as well as their ongoing pressure simply overwhelmed the green and whites in front of their home crowd.

Coach Slaven Bilic of BJK (Besiktas) has masterminded this Istanbul-based club by teaching them how to defend as well as attack as a team. In addition, only one player was extremely tired towards the end of the game: striker Hugo Almeida, who opened the scoring in the first half. The fitness level overall on this team is remarkable.

With a perfect 4-for-4 start, BJK can now look forward to this weekend’s first Istanbul derby when they host the reigning champs Galatasaray. This is a game that will be very competitive as both sides know how to defeat the other, but one needs the three points even more.

The champs have drawn their last three league fixtures after winning only their opener of the new season. They have a huge UCL group opener tomorrow night against Real Madrid at home, which is one of the reasons why they may not be doing so well in the league. However, they have to switch their focus completely to the Black Eagles.

Judging by the way BJK are playing and with their new reinforcements, they can defeat Galatasaray at home against a somewhat shaky defense while their own defense shouldn’t be beaten more than twice, even if Gala boast Umut Bulut, Burak Yilmaz and Didier Drogba.

This will be the first true test for Besiktas this season. If they do happen to win it, they will deservedly be 5-0.
