Manchester United did not give a warm welcome to Liverpool‘s Luis Suarez after his lengthy ban as the Red Devils successfully defeated the Reds 1-0 in their Capital One Cup meeting.

The goal was scored at the brink of halftime through Javier Hernandez who has struggled to find himself a spot on the starting 11.

Well, he along with a few others have proven today that they may be the answer to David Moyes‘ issues.

Hernandez, Shinji Kagawa, Phil Jones and Rafael Da Silva are four of the younger players that United has on its roster. Against Man City at the weekend, most, if not all of them took part, and at the end, the team lost 4-1 with a bunch of veterans. Well, after today’s more than decent performance against a tough Liverpool side, surely Moyes has to find a way to find a nice balance between youth and old for the next game.

Speaking of Liverpool, they were decent tonight as they found chances, but none could find the back of David De Gea‘s net. They were playing on hostile ground and played out an expected loss at United’s famous stadium. However, even though this loss means that they are out of this specific competition does not mean that they are out of the title race or at least a decent European spot in the Premier League. They will bounce back from this without a shadow of a doubt.

Today’s game was the second time these two sides met as Liverpool had won the first league meeting at home by the same score line through Daniel Sturridge‘s first-half header. Now that United have won at their place in Cup play, there is still one more meeting at their place for the league. That will be the chance for revenge and three crucial points for both sides.
