Champions League: Manchester City Vs Bayern Munich Preview

UCL

Bayern Munich will be visiting Manchester City this upcoming Tuesday to renew their UCL group rivalry from two seasons ago, and, of course, to fight for the prestigious three points.

The battle between the two teams is obviously the most anticipated aspect of the match, but the battle of old foes will also resume, as coach Pep Guardiola (Bayern) will be visiting Manuel Pellegrini (Man City).

Pellegrini coached Real Madrid, while Guardiola coached Barca. During that tenure, Guardiola mostly always had the upper hand, as Pellegrini never defeated Barca as coach of Real.

This time around, Pellegrini has a star-studded squad with Man City, and on home ground, they could repeat the 2-0 score line they achieved from two seasons ago against the reigning champs, Munich.

However, coach Pep has finally instilled the 4-3-3 formation into this German-minded side who are used to the 4-2-3-1. They have adapted quite nicely, as they are yet to lose in the league or UCL this season. This will be their toughest match in Europe yet this year, but if they could get Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Mario Mandzukic running the offense, they could end up grabbing all three points at the Etihad in Manchester.

Prediction: Manchester City 2, Bayern Munich 1 — The visitors will miss quite a few chances, while the home side will be pushed by Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko to create quite a bit of offense.

This game will not be easy and will rarely open up, but both sides have what it takes to break the other down, hence, the difference of only one goal.
