Serie A: Inter Milan Undefeated After Five

Inter

Inter Milan have taken the Serie A by storm after the first five fixtures with four wins and only one draw. This team has come in ready to play and has the talent to continue on this successful road they are driving on.

The one team that truly gave them trouble was the reigning champion, Juventus. After taking the 1-0 lead, Juve equalized almost right after. Regardless, Inter did deserve the one point, and to this week, that is their only game in which they lost points.

Well, at least they did not lose all of them.

Anyway, their biggest victory was a whopping 7-0 at Sassuolo. Their others arrived against lesser teams that they may not have taken as seriously, but did achieve the result they set out to.

Now, it will be interesting to see if they can defeat the likes of city rivals AC Milan, hungry Napoli and the currently soaring Roma, who are a perfect 5-0. These are the teams that they will have to defeat at least once in order to make a true statement in the title race. Winning against lesser teams but playing less than perfectly against the bigger guns will not suffice.

Diego Milito, 34, is still scoring goals at will for the club and is getting some help from Rodrigo Palacio and youngsters Mauro Icardi and Ricky Alvarez, who are all of Argentine decent. If all of these guys are at the top of their game, this team will continue to win games by firing on all cylinders.

The team is absent from European soccer this season due to their poor finish in domestic play during last season’s campaign. Now that the team has a roster that understands one another a bit more, they are winning games that they should be and are slowly returning back to their glory days.
