Liverpool has been impressive at times this season and Daniel Sturridge has been nothing short of spectacular throughout the duration of Luis Suarez‘s suspension.
Brazilian starlet Philippe Coutinho has continued to shine as well, but injuries have sidelined the former Inter Milan youngster. With no one to supply consistent service for Sturridge, it was beginning to look like Liverpool would go on a scoreless barren spell in front of the net.
The Uruguayan superstar has returned from his suspension at just the right time. Even in the Cup loss to rivals Manchester United, Suarez looked up for the challenge and his determination never wavered.
In his English Premier League season debut, Suarez was electrifying, scoring two goals and tormenting Sunderland‘s defense all game long. If Suarez and Sturridge can stay fit and on good behavior on and off the pitch, they will be as lethal as any forward pairing in the world.
Many people continue to talk about Suarez’s past transgressions, but the fact remains that he is the most talented player that the Liverpool Football Club have had in quite some time. The Uruguayan’s production and goal-scoring record since he joined the Mersyside club has been incredible.
If manager Brendan Rodgers can continue to get the best out if Suarez and Sturridge, Champions League soccer looks to be a reality at Anfield once again. Suarez brings exuberance to the pitch; he does everything with such a sense of urgency, forcing all of his teammates to reevaluate their dedication, effort and work-rate on the pitch.
Even though Suarez has not been the ideal role model, his playing style is one that any young player should aspire to reach.
