With Arsene Wenger‘s Arsenal squad sitting at the top of the English Premier League table, there have been many players to highlight and give praise.

With the addition of German international Mesut Ozil, he has become the talk of London and his play thus far has justified the gossip. The  play of Welshman Aaron Ramsey and Frenchman Olivier Giroud has been spectacular and inspirational. They are both enjoying career seasons so far at the Emirates.

There are quite a few other player’s who have contributed to the wonderful start for the Gunners. Baracry Sanga definitely one of them.

Coming back from a serious knee injury and facing the emergence of youngster Carl Jenkinson, many wondered about the future of Sanga. His performances were average at best last season, and many speculated that the French international would be on the transfer block. Nonetheless, Wenger kept faith in Sanga, once player of the season in the right-back position in the Premiership. Sanga was once the undisputed right-back at Arsenal as well as for the France national team.

With that brutal knee injury in the past and a consistent run of games under Sanga’s belt, he has rediscovered the form that made him the best right-back in the Premier League. Sanga even played as a center-back early in the season when players were unfit, playing very well in the heart of defense.

Some have forgot about Sagna’s ability but his pace, strength and delivery on crosses in the final third have provided the quality that Arsenal need. As others abilities have weakened, Sanga looks stronger than ever and looks poised to start for France in Brazil at next summer’s World Cup if he can maintain his current form.
