Real Madrid: A Win is Mandatory Against Sevilla
After losing 2-1 over the weekend at FC Barcelona, Real Madrid need to bounce back with a victory over Sevilla at home later today. The game will not be easy as even Barca were forced to score a last minute winner to defeat Ivan Rakitic and company, but with points on the line, Madrid should find a way to prevail.
Cristiano Ronaldo was just subject to a rather pathetic impersonation from FIFA president Sepp Blatter who also claimed that Leo Messi is the one he prefers when comparing the two. With all of that in mind, CR7 knows that he has to have an absolutely magnificent performance to to help his side win the game in order to earn all three points and to make Blatter regret those stupid comments.
Another player who still has a lot to prove this season is none other than mega money signing Gareth Bale who only has one goal thus far in the La Liga season. He should be asked to play a more central role as he did during his final games with Tottenham so he could create more openings on goal. To his left and right will be Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria, respectively, who are more than capable of feeding him the ball on plenty of occasions throughout the 90 plus minutes. This would mean that Karim Benzema would once again start the game on the pine.
Prediction: Real Madrid 2, Sevilla 1
The home side will score on two of their many chances with the visitors scoring on one of their few. The three points they earn here will bring them back down to only six behind Barca as they are now nine behind with a game in hand.
