There have been a lot of rumors regarding the possible arrival of Ramires to Real Madrid as Los Blancos are reportedly interested in the Brazil international. At the same time, much has been said about a possible exit of Xabi Alonso at the end of the season with the Spaniard rumored to be targeting a Premier League return.
And those two moves might happen sooner than expected.
According to reports, Jose Mourinho would love to have Xabi Alonso back under his management and would be keen to sign him for Chelsea. The rumors of the Spain international wanting to leave Madrid only adds more fuel to the speculation, and Ramires could be used as possible trade bait.
The former Sao Paulo star has been a regular for Chelsea, but the Portuguese manager would prefer to have Alonso back on the team as he can give the them a deep lying midfielder that can orchestrate next to Frank Lampard.
Ramires declared a few weeks ago that he was thrilled to be linked with Real Madrid, but his €40M price tag was maybe too much for Los Blancos. With all these rumors surrounding both players, a swap between both parties could be made. The Santiago Bernabeu outfit would certainly have to add some cash to sweeten the deal, however.
This move would be beneficial for the two sides. Real Madrid would add a combative yet up-tempo midfielder whilst Chelsea would have the deep-lying midfielder the squad has been missing since the start of the season.
