UEFA Champions League Preview: Juventus-Real Madrid
Two evenly-matched sides like Real Madrid and Juventus should be able to offer a great contest at Juventus Stadium.
The Spaniards already have an edge over the Italians based on their 2-1 victory a few weeks ago, but the general consensus was that the current Serie A champions deserved better, so they might be able to turn things around in front of their fans.
The midfield is arguably the strongest area of Juventus. Their line of Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba is one of the most talented in the world, and they are the engine that keeps the team running. These playmakers will need to be at their best if they have hopes of getting a positive result against a Real Madrid side that’s coming into this game followed by a run of good results.
Los Merengues lost El Clasico against Barcelona, but they have scored 10 goals in their last two games combined. The trio of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo is finally producing like everybody expected and if this team is able to find open spaces on the attacking side of the ball, they can create havoc in a matter of seconds.
Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Real Madrid
La Vecchia Signora will probably dominate the possession and the tempo of the game, but the danger of Real Madrid attack will make them push their lines back near the end of the games. These two teams are evenly matched, and this could end up being a draw after the final whistle.
