Gonzalo Higuain Lead Napoli To Win over Olympique Marseille
Napoli are one of the best sides in Italy and they faced a tough encounter against an Olympique Marseille side that needed the three points to avoid an early elimination.
The Serie A outfit, on the other hand, also needed the points. Both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are battling with Napoli for the first place in the Group F standings of the UEFA Champions League and they fought hard to come out on top after a 3-2 win thanks to a convincing display on the attacking end.
Gonzalo Higuain was the star of the match for Napoli. The former Real Madrid star found the back of the net twice when his team needed it the most: when the game was tied 1-1 and later when it was 2-2. The Argentinean started the season on a tear since arriving to his new club this past summer and he’s one of the main reasons why the team started on a strong note on both the league and the European tournament.
Napoli certainly need to fix some things as they have two tough matches left in Dortmund and Arsenal. The San Paolo outfit have to be much more solid at the back and they could use a bit more accuracy going forward as they’ve been creating lots of chances, but haven’t been able to capitalize them at a good rate.
The Italians can be relaxed with the performance in the first four games of the Champions League. They have nine points and they share the lead with Arsenal and they will have a golden chance to clinch their place in the next round when they visit Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park at the end of the month.
And as long as Higuain keeps playing at this stellar level, the Italians will have a chance to come away with the win.
