UEFA Champions League Preview: Napoli-Olympique Marseille
Napoli will look to take another giant leap towards a probable qualification to the next round of the UEFA Champions League as they will host Olympique Marseille at Stadio San Paolo.
The Italian side are sitting third in Group F with six points after three matches, while the French outfit have lost all their three matches and have zero points so far, so it’s clearly an important match as both squads need to get a positive result.
Napoli are the heavy favorites to win this match as they will play in front of their fans and have arguably a better team than their rival. The attacking trio of Marek Hamsik, Jose Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain should have a solid performance as the team will look to attack constantly, so they should have plenty of chance to find the back of the net.
Marseille, on the other hand, have their back against the wall. After being unable to get points in their first three games, they will need to improve if they want to get a positive result out of this difficult encounter. The majority of the team’s chances will rely on the shoulders of Pierre-Andre Gignac and Andre Ayew, the most dangerous players of the squad.
Prediction: Napoli 2-1 Olympique Marseille
Marseille will try to attack as they have no other way to win the game, but that should cause them to leave several open spaces at the back. Napoli will take advantage of that situation and they will be able to come out on top after the final whistle.
