Liverpool have been one of the greatest surprises in the Premier League this season. The Reds were poised to come back towards respectability this year after another dismal campaign where they weren’t able to qualify to a European competition. So far, they’re doing all the right things to clinch their goal.

Their latest win against Fulham at Anfield Road showed how dangerous they can be when they’re in control of the game. The team managed by Brendan Rodgers made some key additions this season, but the core of the squad remains intact. Led by longtime captain Steven Gerrard and Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez, Liverpool have been deadly at home and they cruised their way to defeat Fulham 4-0 to remain near to the top of the standings.

The attacking duo of Suarez and Daniel Sturridge has been nothing short of spectacular as well. Through 11 matches in the league campaign, each has scored eight times and given two assists, forming a deadly duo that has been directly involved in 20 of the team’s 21 goals. Gerrard adds the leadership in midfield, Martin Srktel is the heart of the defense and goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is a definite upgrade over Pepe Reina, forming a solid column.

After a few seasons at the shadows of teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and even Tottenham, Liverpool is showing signs of life. They could be on their way to reclaim their place as one of the top teams in Europe and if they can continue this form, they should start getting positive results sooner than expected.
