Sweden hosted Portugal in the second leg of World Cup Qualifying in a game that should be remembered as being simply remarkable. Of course, there was only one winner at the end of the day, but both nations boasted their very best talent in their captains.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals for Sweden in the game and series while Cristiano Ronaldo netted a stunning hat-trick to cap off a brilliant series against the Swedes, scoring all four of Portugal’s goals in both games. Both palyers showed the world once again why they are two of the very best when it comes to play in the final third. They should both be remembered as football heroes in history.

Now, let’s take a look at both players and exactly what they are capable of. Firstly we have Ibra, who is tall, strong and can score beautifully by using either his feet or his head. Today, he proved that he could do both when it truly mattered. However, one dent in his game is the fact that he can’t run for days at defenders as his teammates have to be talented in order to set him up to score.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is at a completely different level. The Real Madrid winger is tall, strong and very mobile. He can run for days with or without the ball at his feet, and can create scoring changes all on his own. In the first match, he scored the game-winner off a phenomenal diving header, while he kicked all three of his goals in during the second meeting. All three goals required him to outrun defenders in order to create space for a shot on frame.

After realizing all of those facts, it is safe to say this: Ronaldo is the better man. Therefore, what Ibra had stated prior to this series about the WC needing him more was nothing more than a boastful lie to simply anger CR7 and his followers. Well, at least he now knows the truth.
