Bayern Munich Will Face a Tough Test Against Borussia Dortmund

In what’s surely one of the best matches all around the world this weekend, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich will face each other for the 13th matchday of the German Bundesliga.

Die Roten are sitting comfortably in the first place of the standings, and although Dortmund are trailing a bit behind, that doesn’t mean that the squad managed by Pep Guardiola has an advantage. In the previous encounter that these two sides played earlier this season, Jürgen Klöpp’s boys were the ones to come out on top with a 4-2 win in the Super Cup.

That’s the main reason why Bayern will look to get revenge against one of their classic rivals.

Despite a slow start in terms of achieving the chemistry needed to play their passing style that gave him many rewards in Barcelona, Pep Guardiola has been able to implement his philosophy at Bayern Munich successfully as the Allianz Arena outfit are getting more and more comfortable playing with a slower pace and building up the play until finding open spaces. It never hurts to have a midfield with stars like Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the favorites to win the encounter against Dortmund.

The team led by Robert Lewandowski upfront is one of the few sides that can matchup head to head with Bayern as their grinding style usually makes the other team feel very uncomfortable. If they can get control of the ball early, Dortmund should have a fair amount of chances as they have players on dazzling form like Ilkay Gündogan, Marco Reus and Lewandowski himself, who is the top scorer in the league once again.

It will surely be a very entertaining clash as both sides are expected to offer the best of their repertoire in a game that could be deciding towards the end of the first part of the season.
