One of Juventus‘ most important players in the last season has signed a new contract extension to remain at the Serie A champions until the end of the 2017 season.
As the team’s official website reported, Arturo Vidal has signed a new deal that will keep him at the Juventus Stadium for the next three years. The Chilean international will earn around €4 million per year, and he has cemented his place as one of the most important players of the squad.
Even though the midfielder will receive a significant raise from his previous contract, the decision to extending the former Bayer Leverkusen star was a no-brainer. He has grown a lot in the past two years, and he’s widely considered one of the best midfielders in the world on both sides of the pitch. Vidal has shown ability to stop attacks, create attacking plays and find the back of the net with relative ease.
He’s one of the team top scorers this year, and he’s the leading goalscorer of Juventus in the Champions League with five goals in equal number of matches. His recent performances have attracted the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Manchester United, but he proved loyalty to Antonio Conte’s team by signing this new deal.
It remains to be seen whether he will live up to his whole contract with the team, but one thing is certain. Juventus needed to make a splash if they wanted to retain one of their most prized assets, and based on what he brings to the table in every single match, extending Vidal was clearly the right decision for the team going forward.
