The United States Men’s National Team will be guaranteed to have their work cut out for them next summer in the FIFA World Cup. The team did qualify with flying colors, but this literally be a totally different ball game.
They were put into Pot C, which means that they will most likely be facing teams such as Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Germany Spain, Chile, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Holland, Italy, France or England. Here is an example of a group that they could be placed in: Brazil, Ghana, USA, Holland. Just looking at these nations should be enough to give an idea what exactly it will be like for the U.S.
Brazil is too much for them in every position. That game would end easily at 4-0 to the host nation. Ghana defeated the U.S. in the Round of 16 back in 2010, and now they are even stronger, so good luck with that boys. As for Holland … the fact that they were placed in the final pot is an outrage since they are truly one of the very best in Europe, in addition to the fact that they are a 2010 finalist.
For those that are offended, let’s face the facts: the U.S. cannot win on the biggest stage. This is the World Cup on foreign soil against some of the best countries in the world. They have one of the best coaches, and it will be up to them to be disciplined throughout the entirety of the games so they can perhaps make something happen.
