Even though Manchester United hasn’t been at their best this season, they’ve been able to succeed in Europe. The team led by David Moyes already clinched their place in the next round and they will look to end their group stage participation with a win against Shakhtar Donetsk.

After five matches, The Red Devils are first with 11 points and the Ukranian outfit is in second place with eight. If the current Ukraine champions win at Old Trafford, they will qualify to the Round of 16.

Manchester United has struggled under David Moyes’ management this season, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have several players on the squad. Defender Phil Jones and striker Wayne Rooney are two elements that have been performing solidly this season and these two, especially the striker, are going to be key if The Red Devils want to end up their Group Stage on a high note.

Shakhtar, on the other hand, have enough weapons to pull the upset at Old Trafford. Midfielders Fernando and Darijo Srna and striker Douglas Costa already caused a lot of troubles to United’s defensive line the last time these two sides met at the Donbass Arena and their pace could end up being decisive if they have enough room to operate upfront.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Shakhtar Donestsk

These two sides are quite even and they are well matched against each other. Manchester United is slated to dominate the possession but the urgency of Shakhtar will make them get at least one point away from home.
