Manchester United Should Make a Move for Freddy Guarín
Manchester United’s disappointing season has been occupying the first pages of the most important media outlets in the world so far.
The Red Devils are coming off a campaign where they won the Premier League, but after David Moyes’ arrival things have gone south quickly and the team is in a disappointing ninth place of the English league after 15 matches.
Most experts have said that the team needs to be aggressive in the January transfer window. Though there aren’t many players that could make an immediate impact on the team, one name that should be targeted in Inter Milan’s midfielder Freddy Guarín.
The Colombia international is adept to play all over the midfield and can operate in a wider role if necessary although he’s best suited for a central role. His strength, playmaking abilities and outstanding vision are all perfect for the intense style of the Premier League, and he would be a massive upgrade over players like Anderson and Tom Cleverley who haven’t been able to convince the manager or the fans this year.
Guarín is reportedly valued in €18M, but Manchester United’s officials believe he can be signed for less so there’s a strong rumor out there that the team is going to make a serious push to land him in January to strengthen the midfield.
Guarin is also reportedly looking to leave the Serie A to take on a new challenge, so this situation appears to be a perfect match. Manchester United shouldn’t waste more time, and if they have the chance they need to land the Colombian star as he could give the team a much needed spark in midfield.
