Apparently, Pep Guardiola is already thinking about players that could improve Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
The Spanish tactician has completed a magnificent start to his tenure with the current UEFA Champions League winners, but just like he did with Barcelona he’s always testing the market to see if he can land another big name.
And his main target this time is a Spanish midfielder that’s currently playing for Atletico Madrid.
Per several reports, Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in landing Koke after a specific requirement made by Guardiola to the management, something that isn’t surprising because Pep already wanted to sign the youngster when he was in charge of Barcelona. The creative midfielder has been one of the stars for Los Colchoneros this season, and he will likely not be sold as he’s a key midfielder for Diego Simeone.
That is not going to stop Bayern from trying to land him, though, and they are exploring the possibility to include a piece of their own to sweeten the pot: Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri. The 22-year-old has similar characteristics, and with his pace and ball control he could be deadly in a tournament like La Liga where there are plenty of open spaces for attacking wingers.
It doesn’t seem likely that Atletico will decide to part ways with one of their most prized assets, but Bayern is clearly sending a message with this move. They could have won everything last season, but they are still looking to continue their European domination on a consistent basis.
