Even though Zlatan Ibrahimovic is enjoying a good year with PSG – where he is one of the stars on one of Europe’s biggest teams – the Swedish striker is always looking at what future might hold for him.
The former Juventus and Barcelona striker has been known for changing teams constantly. Even though he doesn’t have plans to leave PSG at the end of this year, he revealed some of his plans to ESPN where he admitted he sees himself playing in the MLS before his career is over.
“To be honest, I would love to play in the United States,” he told the press. “They don’t know me very well there and it seems to be a very interesting league so it’s one step I would like to take before my playing days are over.”
Now, MLS fans shouldn’t be too excited to see him in the coming years because Zlatan still has a lot left in the tank, but if he ends up arriving his presence alone would give the league a huge boost. The MLS has already attracted worldwide stars like David Beckham, Tim Cahill, Rafa Marquez and Thierry Henry to the country, and a phenomenon like Zlatan would only cause the world to pose more eyes on the league.
Zlatan landing in the States seems like a long-shot for now, but if the chance arises teams would be in line to get him. He already stated his desire to play here before his career is over, and it appears to be the kind of move that would benefit both parties in the long run.
