While it’s undeniable that Manchester United have been much better in this month than at the start of the season, their sloppy beginning could cost them if they don’t make a move to strengthen up the team in the January transfer window.
The squad led by David Moyes has put together a nice run of results in the Premier League, but they are still far from the top spots of the standings. The team has been very dependent on Wayne Rooney upfront – although Danny Welbeck has picked it up in recent games – and they would be wise to bring a marquee player as soon as possible to boost the attacking side of the team.
And one player that would make much sense is Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, who’s reportedly unhappy in Germany and would look to move away from the club in January if possible.
According to reports from the English press, The Red Devils already took note of the situation and they would be willing to submit a huge offer to convince Dortmund to part ways with the Germany international. The reported bid would be in the €50M range, and it has been rumored that Reus could even push the management to accept the offer as he’s looking to play in the English Premier League.
Borussia Dortmund has declined to comment on the matter, but they would be wise to let Reus go if Manchester United offers close to €50M. They could re-structure the team with that kind of money to continue being a European powerhouse for years to come.
