David Luiz Would Be A Perfect Addition For Bayern Munich’s Defensive Line
Bayern Munich completed a dominant year in 2013, and now that the team is under Pep Guardiola’s management, they seem to be even hungrier to repeat everything they won.
After winning the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League last season, the Spanish manager has the team on the right track to repeat all the titles. And since the January transfer window is already in full swing, the German champions are reportedly targeting a player that would increase their chances of winning everything they participate in.
According to reports from the German press, Guardiola is interested in Chelsea defender David Luiz, and has asked Bayern’s management to submit an offer for the Brazilian international. Although no numbers have been reported, it is believed that the initial bid is around the €30 million range. Even though it is unlikely that it will be accepted, there’s little doubt that Luiz’s arrival would make Bayern even more dangerous.
The central defender is adept at playing in the middle of the pitch much like Bayern starter Javi Martinez, and he is one of the most technically gifted defenders in the world. He has a knack of appearing in important matches and he has both the domestic and international experience to succeed at the Allianz Arena.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea is willing to negotiate, something that appears to be very difficult based on what Luiz means to the Blues. But if Bayern ends up landing the Brazilian star, it would improve a team that is already considered the best in the world.
