Italian giants Juventus have made it exceedingly clear that star players Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba are not for sale — in January or in any transfer window after.
Pirlo, a man so classy that his off-time is spent running his own winery, will soon be receiving a new two-year deal from the Turin-based club. It is customary for a player over 30 to receive reoccurring one-year extensions to their contract, but a player of Pirlo’s lasting quality – and immaculate facial hair – is in a position to get what he wants.
Pogba is also interested in contract renegotiation, but has been quick to reaffirm his loyalties to the Bianconeri. The young star is one of the most popular players at the moment and is on the wishlist of nearly every top club in Europe. ‘The one that got away’ from Manchester United back in 2012 has cemented his place as a first-choice midfielder in Juve’s starting 11 this season, and has continued his superb run of form from last season.
This year has been excellent for players and club alike, with the Old Lady distancing itself from the rest of the Serie A pack with a recent win over previously undefeated AS Roma. Juventus are wise to hold on to their best players as they will be crucial to bringing the club its third Serie A title in as many years.
