David Moyes‘ presence at Juventus‘ away match at Cagliari provides potential new hope for Manchester United fans.

The United manager was spotted by TV cameras and journalists in Italy on Sunday, sparking rumors regarding various Juventus players and their futures.

United clearly need a new midfielder, a World Class talent who can change their season for the better. Juventus have more than a variety of talent, with that coming in all positions. The strongest rumor is that Claudio Marchisio is the man Moyes is chasing, with the Italian international considered a solid new addition to United’s midfield.

But you’d have to say that there is a need for defenders at United still; they’ve leaked goals this season and although they have an array of young talents, they could do with a reliable International quality star. The currently highly impressive defender and ball playing Davide Astori is the name that springs to mind and with Moyes watching Juventus, he may well be a man United soon go in for.

But the midfield is the key area that United must strengthen. Arturo Vidal is perhaps a player Moyes would attempt to go for as well, having said in the past he will always try to buy the best he can no matter how difficult people think that is.

The strange thing is that Moyes is scouting in January — the transfer window. Why hasn’t he been looking at players before this point? Why is this process of scouting ongoing at this stage? I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but one thing is for sure and that is United fans will be screaming for a new transfer this January.
