Manchester United: Miralem Pjanic is Exactly What Team Needs in Midfield
To say that Manchester United needs help in midfield is clearly evident as the team keeps struggling to create chances and secure possession after each game.
The Red Devils looked to improve that situation in the summer transfer window signing former Everton star Marouane Fellaini, but he hasn’t been able to produce as he did with the Toffees. The loan of Anderson to Fiorentina and the struggles of players like Tom Cleverley and Shinji Kagawa have further depleted Manchester United’s midfielder, but there is one player that can be the solution the team needs.
And that player is AS Roma star Miralem Pjanic.
The Bosnia international was a star in his Ligue 1 days with Olympique Lyonnais and he has improved as expected since joining Roma, becoming a threat on both ends of the pitch and becoming a solid playmaker in one of the top teams in Europe this season. The scary thing is that he is still very young and Manchester United would be wise to take a gamble on his potential and they should try to sign him before he becomes even more expensive.
Pjanic can play behind a lone striker as a central midfielder and he could even be slotted on a wider role since he has enough quality to make things happen from any spot on the pitch. His price tag is surely an issue and it seems highly unlikely that Roma decides to part ways with him, but Manchester United should make an effort to land him.
Pjanic would bolster the Red Devils’ midfield and he could become a solid building block for the future. His mixture of potential, skills and experience make him a perfect fit for what the squad needs.
