5 Best Juan Mata Moments at Chelsea
Best Juan Mata Moments at Chelsea
So many great memories, so many memorable moments. The career of Juan Mata as a Chelsea player was one filled with highs and absent of lows. Yet, the time came where the Blues made a deal with the devil and now the ‘Special Juan’ is donning Manchester United’s famous No. 7.
Chelsea fans though, will always remember Mata wearing the No. 10 on a blue background, abusing opposing defenses while being a soft-spoken rock star.
Yet, as they say, the brightest candle burns out twice as fast. And so was the career of Juan Mata as a Chelsea player; short but sweet.
The player wanted to stay at Chelsea to spend the peak of his career winning trophies, and battling for domestic and European glory. But things change and the return of one crowd favorite in Jose Mourinho spelled the end for the other in Mata.
The player who had tallied 33 goals and 50 assists at Stamford Bridge was now deemed surplus to requirements. The player that had lit up the grandest venues with his intricate passing and fabulous flair, and won Chelsea’s player of the year two years in a row, now has gone north.
But Juan Mata left Chelsea with blue in his heart, and left the club and its supporters so much to be thankful for. His time was short but his impact was irreversible.
So, without further ado, here are the five most memorable Mata moments as a Chelsea player.
