Arsenal: Will Aaron Ramsey’s Injury Force Arsene Wenger’s Hand In Transfer Market?

Arsenal suffered an unfortunate setback before their match against Southampton as Aaron Ramsey‘s expected return from injury has been delayed due an incident in training. With the midfielder set to miss out on crucial upcoming encounters in February, manager Arsene Wenger might be forced to dive to the transfer market for a last-minute signing to shore up the team’s strengths on offense.

While Olivier Giroud‘s return to consistent scoring is fantastic news for the club and its fans, Arsene still look lacklustre and inconsistent at times like in the match against the Saints. Key players like Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are presumably still reaching for complete match fitness as Wenger assesses his options ahead of the battles against Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich next month.

With their Premier League title hopes on dangerous grounds after Arsenal could only achieve a point in its last match, minimizing the impact of injuries will be key as the mid-season transfer window is ideally not the best time for the arrival of key players. With talent coming at a premium in the continent, it would be interesting to see if Wenger would be willing to make a splash for a second time this season on a player as talented as Mesut Ozil.

Wenger has been insisting recently that he would not hesitate to dole out the cash if the right player is available and with all the praise German youngster Julian Draxler has been receiving recently, one begins to wonder if he does have it in him to propel the Gunners’ hopes for a title this season.

Wenger’s vision and managing wisdom are undeniable, and the club could surely use a lift to sustain their title hopes. With just three more days remaining before the windows shuts, speculations of a key player’s arrival to the club are sure to run wild.
