Manchester City will have the chance to avenge their 1-0 home Premier League loss to Chelsea over a week ago when they face off this Saturday for an FA Cup match. The beauty of this is that the game will be played once again at their very own Etihad stadium in Manchester, England.

The game was decided by Branislav Ivanovic’s first-half strike as neither side could find the back of the net prior to or after that moment. Chelsea had also hit the woodwork a total of three times, which are all reminders that City kept leaving themselves exposed on the counter or during a rather swift build-up.

Speaking of counters, City, for some reason, focus way too much on attacking as opposed to defending. The game of soccer is supposed to be a split focus as defending disallows opponents from scoring, whereas attacking puts the ball into the back of the opposing net. Both of these are true if they are done with 100% concentration, and of course, when lady luck decides to intervene. This is something that the home side will have to keep in mind as they have surely learned from the first time around.

As for Chelsea, they won on this ground before and they will certainly believe that they can do it again. With every one of their players competing at the highest of levels, there is no need for them to lose any amount of confidence ahead of their second clash with the league’s top scorers. They can defend, attack and mastermind the game against the 2012 Premier League champions who were the FA Cup finalists a year ago.

This will be a game where both teams will look to cancel one another out, but the home side will create more attacking chances without relying on their opponent’s mistakes. In fact, they should come out on top of this one with vengeance and a rather hungrier squad will be ready for the challenge.
