Colombian forwards are all the rage right now. Radamel Falcao was the hottest forward prospect last summer before his move to Monaco, and Porto front man Jackson Martinez has been on the radar of nearly every big club in Europe.
Now, another Colombian is making his way to center stage. His name is Adrian Ramos and he plays for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga. Reports have surfaced that Borussia Dortmund are keenly aware of the forward’s play this season and would like to secure his services. Ramos is tied for top goalscorer in the Bundesliga (14) with current Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. As Lewandowski is set to leave for an already dominant Bayern Munich team next summer, Dortmund is in the hunt for quick replacement.
Ramos could be their guy. As previously mentioned, the 28 year old has 14 goals to his name. He also has four assists and 31 key passes to go along with them. Ramos is adding on to his performances from last season that saw the forward score 11 goals and assist eight in the German second division. It is fair to say that Hertha Berlin’s current eighth place ranking is largely due to his stellar performances.
For a player at the peak of his career, Ramos is valued at €7.5 million, per transfermarkt.com. This would be a great piece of business for Dortmund and would slightly help ease the pain of losing Lewandowski to their direct rivals on a free transfer.
Would Ramos be a good fit at Dortmund? Would he be worth the transfer price?
