Top 5 La Liga Goals Of Week 26
La Liga Top 5 Goals Of The Week
Week 26 in La Liga just ended and as it usually happens, there were some unbelievable goals.
La Liga features some of the best players in the world and some of the best teams as well, so it’s not a surprise to see top-class plays in every single match. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Lionel Messi delight the fans week in and week out, and the result is some of the most beautiful goals in the world being scored on Spanish soil.
I will pick the best five goals during the past matchday that went from Friday to this Monday. Most of the goals are long-range efforts, but there also beautiful pieces that include teamwork and individual skills.
As expected, teams like Atletico de Madrid, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are the ones that usually grab all the attention in the soccer world -- especially with the Derbi played last week -- but this time I have given priority to other teams as well.
Please check back next week for the Week 27 edition of the rankings.
5. Pape Diop vs. Osasuna
Pape Diop rose to fame more than 10 years ago with Senegal in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, but it seems like he finally found his place in the world after joining Levante. He has always been a technical player with a knack for scoring beautiful goals, and this one against Osasuna is surely one of the best he has scored in recent years.
4. Xavi vs. UD Almería
World-class midfielder Xavi is a master when hitting the ball from long range, and he proved it against Almeria with a beautiful goal. Barcelona is not a team that shoots often from long range, but after seeing the results in Xavi's goal, they might want to start doing it more frequently.
3. Lionel Messi vs. UD Almería
A few years ago, Lionel Messi didn't even shoot free kicks in FC Barcelona, but look at how brilliantly he does it right now. He added another spectacular goal to his total with a delightful effort against Almeria, and he keeps showing that the injury issues are fully in the past.
2. Aritz Aduriz vs. Granada
Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz is the typical striker who scores goals from close range and has a solid aerial game, but he pulled a rabbit from his hat this time. After receiving the ball far from the goal, he blasted a bomb from outside the box that went straight into the top corner.
1. Gabi vs. Real Madrid
The best goal of the week had to occur in the best game of the week as well. It was only fair.
Midfielder Gabi doesn't usually score, but he notched a spectacular goal against Real Madrid. The defensive specialist received the ball after a free kick and after a quick first touch, he blasted a bomb that went past Diego Lopez from over 30 yards.
