The England captain wasn't as influential as he'd like to be, but his presence as a deeper role seems like it will be an integral part of how England perform in the summer. He clearly still possesses a goal threat, but his ambitious passing cannot afford to be out of touch.
Despite having scared all Arsenal and England fans with a dangerous 50\50 challenge in the first half, Wilshere performed very well. Having been around for a few years now, he almost goes under the radar at times. But for such a young player he is consistently showing the talents of a player England had longed for.
Liverpool's 19-year-old winger has been giving his World Cup chances a superb chance with his club form. But with an influential and positive display against Denmark, he has now almost certainly booked himself a spot on the flight. An end product is missing sometimes, but he is dangerous and young -- just what England desire.
One of many Southampton players on show and on his debut at just 18, he settled in very quickly and managed to show enough that he should be taken seriously in the race for the left back spot in the summer. He has decades ahead of him, whilst Ashley Cole has potentially a few months.
When he came on as a substitute in the second half, he would have known that it was a second chance after having struggled to make a huge impact against Germany and Chile earlier in the year. But on this occasion Lallana was fantastic. Not only did he get an assist for the winner, but his performance from the moment he stepped on the pitch was positive, sharp and creative. He has to be in that World Cup squad now, he's consistently performing and is a big asset that must be used.
One of Roy Hodgson's favorite strikers since taking the England reigns in 2012 has been Welbeck. Others were given a chance against Denmark, but when Welbeck came on towards the end of the 90 minutes, it was clear that he has a lot to offer for the Three Lions. He hit a good chance straight at the keeper, but the urgency and pace was promising.
