Although the team has been revamped and improved in recent years, it has still maintained its impressive defense. It is the foundation of everything they do under Hitzfeld, and the fact they have just added wrinkles on top of that is the reason they have made the strides they have. Scoring past Switzerland will be difficult for everybody and if they start to slice through people offensively, then it really will be show time.

Ottmar Hitzfeld is a world-renowned, respected and admired manager. Throughout his career, he has won many, many trophies and enjoyed a hugely successful career, which will come to an end after this World Cup. Switzerland do not possess standout star players and win their games as a team. They know that and Hitzfeld gets the best out of them because of it. If the team follows his orders correctly this summer, they can be world champions.
