In the Premier League on Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton played out an entertaining game, which ended with a dramatic late-winning goal for Tottenham in a 3-2 win. It was an even but entertaining game, and although Southampton were the better team in the first half, Spurs were certainly the better team in the second 45 minutes. It was an action packed game from start to finish that was good for some players and bad for others.

Danny Rose earned his way into the Tottenham fans' hearts a few years ago, scoring an incredible goal against bitter rivals Arsenal. But the way he's playing right now he won't be there very long. Rose has been injured a lot this season, yet when he does play, he turns in a display like today. Bad decision making and giving away possession far too easily were just two of the issues he had in this game and surely needs to improve next season.

Roberto Soldado has undergone a torrid first season in England. Bought for £26m from Valencia, the Tottenham fans were right to expect much more than they've gotten so far from the Spanish striker. Anybody who had or was thinking about giving up on the hitman, though, should wait a little longer yet. Soldado had a very good game as he held the ball up for his teammates and showed some beautiful touches also. He desperately needs a goal, though.

Christian Eriksen is another player who has not, so far, lived up to the billing he received. He has shown glimpses of his talent though this season, and he did so again against Southampton. The two goals he scored were simple enough, although he was in the right place at the right time, but his all-around play was very good too. There's more to come, but with the potential he has, he could be a player to really look out for next season.

Work rate, technique, skill, passing, vision, goals, assists, captain -- What's not to like about Adam Lallana? There has been much deliberation about a few of the Southampton players lately and whether they should go to the World Cup or not. There should be no doubt about Lallana, though, and he should be a starter too. Another good performance here was further proof of that, with a goal for good measure as well.

A few weeks ago, Spurs manager Tim Sherwood publicly criticized and questioned the character of his team. From there things were only going to go one of two ways: Either the players would back him or they would give up on him. We can now say, after good performances against Arsenal and Benfica also, that they definitely back him. Whether Spurs chairman Daniel Levy backs him or not will be the next question Sherwood needs answering.
