Although not one of the favourites for the World Cup, Croatia will be looking towards their talisman Luka Modric to guide them in Brazil. After negotiating their way through a complicated qualifying group via a playoff game against Iceland, they will be looking ahead in hope to a successful campaign this summer. Croatia have always produced talented players, and this generation of players is no different.

Dejan Lovren has enjoyed an excellent season in the Premier League for Southampton and will now head to Brazil to play for Croatia. Croatia are in a group which you would expect them to navigate their way through -- although a tough game against hosts Brazil does await. Players like captain Darijo Srna, Ivica Olic, Eduardo, Stipe Pletikosa and Ognjen Vukojevic all bring vast experience to the squad. There are young starlets to look out for too like Mateo Kovacic, who could really emerge during this tournament. However, experienced players are important for any squad, and Croatia certainly have them.

With Mario Mandzukic, Nikica Jelavic, Ivica Olic and Eduardo in attack, Croatia have goals at their disposal whether on the pitch or on the bench. Bayern Munich forward Mandzukic will be the first choice and if he happens to need some help, then the other strikers have shown in their careers that they are always capable of scoring a goal if needed.

Croatia have one of the best midfielders in the tournament in Luka Modric, who can control most games almost single-handedly with his passing, vision and ability to keep possession. Croatia will be looking to Modric to pull the strings in midfield and to put them in positions to win games, which he will inevitably do.
