Another week of great soccer is in the bag for MLS. This week did not feature as many big time goals or high-scoring matches that the past two weeks have, but it certainly gave fans a better look at how their team is shaping up.
Here are Rant Sports' Top 5 Goals of Week 3 from MLS action.
For those of you that are true MLS fans, you probably have developed a love/hate relationship for Alvaro Saborio. His temper and dirty play can make you mad one minute, while his great goal scoring abilities can have you in shock and awe the next. This goal was certainly one of those special moments for Saborio.
The red-headed wonder does not score many goals, but when he does, they certainly are ones to remember. This equalizing goal from Dax McCarty is perfectly placed and was just what the New York Red Bulls needed to pull one back and get a much needed tie against the Chicago Fire.
The Seattle Sounders needed a win this past week and it certainly was well deserved. Seattle was relentless with their pressure and scored two great goals against an okay Montreal Impact team. With this win, Seattle moves into second place in the Western Conference standings. The attacking playing of the Sounders has found been led by Obafemi Martins and his tremendous header goal was a testament to his sensational goal scoring abilities.
The current overall first place team in all of MLS, FC Dallas has been playing some truly tremendous soccer. Currently, the team has taken seven points from their first three matches. FCD is loaded with talent, and having players like Michel shows just how good the organization is at bringing in top-flight players.
The Columbus Crew are certainly making a name for themselves this season. After two games, the team is currently 2-0-0, giving them six points and placing them in a three-way tie for first in the Eastern Conference. With the play of Higuain and Bernardo fueling the Crew attack, the team will certainly be one to watch as the season progresses.
