When the World Cup draw concluded, the USMNT had been selected for the Group of Death, along with Germany, Portugal and Ghana. It will take a great effort to move onto the next round and out of the group.

Now, before this is interpreted the wrong way, these are only best case scenarios. It is not to say that the USMNT needs all of these to happen to advance, and hopefully the play on the field will be enough to make it to the round of 16.

Jurgen Klinsmann already has a good idea who will be on the final 23 heading to the World Cup. It would be best if they remain healthy with a little over two months to go. Imagine if Michael Bradley or Landon Donovan go down to an injury while playing in MLS. The USMNT needs a healthy squad.

If you have traveled lately, you know how it can be. Obviously the team will be on a chartered flight and have their own room to go through customs; they also have a team of people working on logistics. Regardless, it would be best if everything went smoothly and there was no unnecessary stress put on the team.

The first match will be against Ghana, a team many consider a rival after the last two matches ended in defeat for the USMNT. Since the group is one of the toughest in the competition, the first match gains even more significance. They must win against Ghana to have a better chance to advance.

Germany is one of the favorites in the competition, and there is a chance that they could have clinched their spot in the next round when the two face off on June 26. If die Mannschaft are through to the next round, then they could save some of their best players for that round. If less of the superstars play, the field could become tilted a little more toward the USMNT.

Jurgen Klinsmann will have his team fit, and recent coaching changes were made to presumably fine tune the tactics on the field. However, the coach has to instill a positive attitude in his team. It might be good if the team doesn't read what the media has to say about their chances, or if they use the doubts around them as fuel to show that they have what it takes to move on.
