Germany is considered one of the favorites in Brazil, so it could be tough to find a lot of weak links. However, the latest friendly was less than convincing and four new players were called in to play Chile. There is still some tinkering going on with die Mannschaft and one clear concern just over two months from the World Cup.

There are a lot of moving parts in the back line right now. Jerome Boateng is being groomed to play any position at the back and Philip Lahm wants to play midfield. There are at least three possible left backs and about six combinations at center back right now. The players will have to find cohesion during World Cup training in late May.

You never know how the psyche of a team can affect their play in a major tournament. The coaches can help with this, but as we will see in the next point that may not be the case at the moment. This team is expected to breeze through the Group Stage, but with that comes a chance at complacency.

Joachim Loew has said that there are no automatic tickets to Brazil in order to get his team's competition level up. However, his public comments have been filled with uncertainty and not helping his squad believe in the collection of players as a team. Also calling in youngsters who did not play makes little sense if they have no chance of going to Brazil.

Loew has a habit of adopting tactics for his teams that have worked for certain players on their club team. This includes putting Mario Goetze as a false nine. However, the team is built with depth on the wings, and they will need a target. Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez have not lit the world on fire this year and an emerging star, Max Kruse, has not proven himself on a world stage.

The biggest concern right now is injuries. Sami Khedira is hopeful to return from a serious injury sustained in November. Others dealing with injuries include Mesut Ozil, Ilkay Gundogan, Sven Bender, Marcel Schmelzer, Benedikt Howedes, etc. Germany will need some of these players back as starters or to provide much needed depth to handle potentially draining conditions in Brazil.
