The German National Team is stacked with creative talent on the edges. Andre Schurrle, Julian Draxler and Thomas Muller could all fall into the category of super sub or be worthy of a start from coach Joachim Low. Germany will have no shortage of creative wingers to chose from in Brazil.

Most assume that Germany will win the group. This would set up a match with either an injury-riddled Belgium squad or Russia. Algeria and South Korea are the other two possible opponents out of Group H regardless of if Germany wins or places second. A quarterfinal match with France or Argentina would be intriguing, but Germany would still have the edge.

The midfield will be stable for the Germans. There are a lot of interchangeable parts with Philip Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos and potentially Ilkay Gundogan assisting in a holding role. Sami Khedira may also come back from injury soon. Then the attacking position could be held by Mesut Ozil or Marco Reus. The center of the pitch should be controlled by Germany.

Manuel Neuer is one of the best keepers in the world. If you have read a lot of the works on the German National Team on Rant Sports, then you may think this is beating a dead horse. However, it cannot be overstated how important Neuer can be as, if there is any weakness outside of injuries for Germany, it is the back line. This means potentially more shots faced by Neuer, and he is usually up to the task.

Five reasons why I don’t care about your predictions:
    1) I’ve seen many teams go to the World Cup in the past who were considered virtually certain to move beyond the group stages but were eliminated after three games.
    2) For each group, if you take the consensus picks for the two teams who are predicted to move to the knock out round. I guarantee there will be at least two upsets by the end of the group stage. At least two teams who are predicted to advance will go home early.
    3) Portugal
    4) Ghana
    5) United States!
