Group A figures to be one of the more intriguing groups at the 2014 World Cup. The host nation of Brazil figures to win the group, but with so much pressure on them, it'll be interesting to see if they falter during the group stage. Assuming the Brazilians advance, the three other teams in the group will battle it out for second place, with all three having a realistic chance of advancing.

The Brazilians will show some nerves and start out slow in the tournament's opening match, allowing the Croatians to flirt with an upset. But in the end, Croatia's defense isn't strong enough to slow down Neymar and company for 90 minutes and the Brazilians start the tournament with three goals and three points.

Both sides have the talent to get forward and create chances in the final third, and both teams can be prone to lapses defensively, creating an equally matched and entertaining game. Around the 80 minute mark, Samuel Eto'o will score the equalizer, ending the match in a draw, a fair result for both sides.

Mexico will surprise everyone by taking an early lead, but they won't be able to hold onto it. In the second half, the Brazilians go wild, scoring three goals in a 20-minute span, collecting another three points and passage to the knockout stage.

Unlike Cameroon's opening match, Samuel Eto'o is unable to find the late equalizer, as the Croatians have enough class to edge the Indomitable Lions and secure a critical three points, despite some hot and humid playing conditions in the Amazon.

Knowing they need three points to advance, Mexico is forced to chase the game early, allowing the Croatians to score on the counter attack and take a 1-0 lead. The Mexicans finally get the equalizer in the final minutes, but is unable to find the go-ahead goal, leading to a draw.

With everything on the line, Cameroon dominates much of the game, but is unable to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Brazil takes its foot off the gas and doesn't generate too many scoring opportunities, but they finish one and it turns out to be all they need to stay perfect in group play.
