Argentina usually stand out with plenty of star names whenever they arrive at a World Cup. This year in Brazil, they will probably have if not the best, then definitely one of the best group of attackers in the tournament. The defense and midfield is not as laden with quality, but it still leaves a lot to admire when you consider the five best players on their team.

There were other players who could maybe pip Javier Mascherano to fifth place, but the fact that Mascherano is so vital defensively for a team brimming with attacking talent works in his favor. The Barcelona man can play in the center of defense or at the heart of the midfield, and Argentina could really use him in both,

Gonzalo Higuain is not only a standout striker in his own right, but he is also a good foil for some of the other attackers around him in the Argentina team. Higuain is primarily a goalscorer who can finish with either his foot or his head, and with all the talent floating around him on the pitch, it's a perfect setup for him to operate more within the box and finish the chances that will surely come his way.

3. Angel Di Maria

Angel Di Maria is not your typical winger that dribbles well and can cross, but can sometimes be prone to defensive lapses in concentration. Di Maria is much more reliable than that, and he is also capable of drifting more toward central and being effective there too, either scoring or assisting a teammate. He doesn't shy away from his defensive duties either and is one of the most well-rounded attackers in the world.

Sergio Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world. The Manchester City man has amazing balance and a low center of gravity as he glides across the pitch, leaving defenders in his wake. His speed and dribbling ability is a constant worry for defenders and his goalscoring exploits top it all. Aguero has had a lot of injuries this season, though, and Argentina will need him fully fit in time for June.

Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. In a season where the Argentine has been considered to have suffered a dip, he has still outshone 99.9 percent of the rest of Europe. When he is at his best, he is simply unbeatable, no matter what shirt he is wearing or who is on his team. Argentina will be hoping Messi will be at his irresistible best this summer because nobody can stop him if he is.
