Many of the 32 World Cup teams have announced their preliminary rosters, and the games are due to begin in Brazil in less than one month. Keeping this in mind, I have identified the five sleeper teams that have a genuine chance of winning the 2014 World Cup.

Belgium has not appeared in the World Cup since 2002, but they have as much roster talent as any team in the tournament and a relatively favorable draw. They should top a group that includes South Korea, Russia and Algeria, setting them up for the winner-take-all knockout stages. At that point anything can happen, and Belgium has the talent to overwhelm any team they come up against.

4. Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina should have no trouble advancing in a group that includes Argentina, Iran and Nigeria, although a runner-up spot looks most likely. After that, their hopes will be placed upon Edin Dzeko at the front end and Asmir Begovic on the back end, which isn't a bad duo to rely upon.

3. Greece

Greece can not be expected to play attractive football, but they will play tight defense and stay close in every game they play. Getting out of a group that includes Ivory Coast, Japan and Colombia won't be easy, but a run to the quarterfinals of the 2012 European Championship shows this group can defy the odds.

2. Croatia

Croatia will surprise teams with slick and beautiful football at the 2014 World Cup, which will be spearheaded by Luka Modric, Niko Kranjcar and Mario Mandzukic. Besting Mexico and Cameroon to finish second in Group A behind Brazil shouldn't be too tough of a task, and their mix of dynamic players should be enough to put a scare in any knockout stage teams.

1. Uruguay

Uruguay is overshadowed by Brazil and Argentina amongst South American teams, but that doesn't mean they can't win it all. Luis Suarez, Edison Cavani and Diego Forlan may be the most dynamic offensive trio in the 2014 World Cup, and they have what it takes to get through a group that includes England, Italy and Costa Rica. And after finishing fourth at the 2010 World Cup and winning the 2011 Copa America, Uruguay can win the 2014 World Cup.
