Group B is one of the most unpredictable groups heading into World Cup 2014. Spain are the favorites of the group and Australia are the underdogs, but Netherlands Chile are both good teams who are hard to separate. The tables could turn very quickly in regards to placings in this group.

Australia are undoubtedly the underdogs of this group, and they will need to perform like never before to advance. Although if the other three teams in the group can all take points off each other and Australia can sneak a win somewhere, then things could get very interesting indeed. More than likely, though, Australia will eventually finish fourth in the group.

Chile have a fabulous chance to progress from Group B. They are the real danger team that Spain and Netherlands need to be wary of. It may come down to Chile or the Dutch for second place, but the extra firepower the Netherlands have in Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben should be too much for the Chileans in the end. That will ultimately force them into third place.

Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal is putting his faith in some young players for this World Cup. He still, however, has the likes of Van Persie, Robben, Rafael Van Der Vaart and Wesley Snjeider to call upon too. The Netherlands will fall short of finishing ahead of Spain and they will no doubt be under fire from Chile, but the quality the Dutch still possess should see them advance in second place.

Although Spain are being doubted in some quarters, they should still top Group B and advance to the second round. The Spanish will have some serious questions to answer later in the tournament, but they will also be challenged before that in what is a very complex group they have to navigate. It may be difficult, or even closer than expected, but somehow Spain will finish in first place in the group.
