Do not be mistaken, Manchester United’s 2013-14 English Premier League campaign was an anomaly. Finishing seventh in the league after the great Sir Alex Ferguson retired seemed to be a huge possibility. No one is capable of filling that man’s shoes; they are simply way too big. The 2014-15 campaign will be different for the Red Devils as they look to top the table once more.

Ryan Giggs retired after the 2013-14 season and is now the assistant coach to Louis Van Gaal. Giggs will be able to give the run-down to Van Gaal about player tendencies, as well as offer solid advice as to where pivotal players should play on the pitch. Given Giggs’ legendary career at Manchester United, this will be just another stepping stone for Giggs in an extensive soccer career.

Being Manchester United has its advantages, one being that talent comes from all over the ranks, from youth academies to transfers windows. The young Adnan Januzaj, one of my favorite players at the moment, shared time with Shinji Kagawa, Juan Mata and Tom Cleverley last season, and has tremendous upside in his game. He is quick, accurate and lengthy, and can command the whole field. This player will be an X-factor in the 2014-15 campaign.

The new gaffer for Manchester United has proven himself at the international and league level with a variety of teams. This is a coach who is accustomed to winning and will win at Old Trafford. Van Gaal has also proven that he is able to bring in Dutch players which could come in handy. Mark my words: when the transfer windows are open, look for the names of Memphis Depay and Adam Maher on Van Gaal’s list as new MUFC players.

“The Flying Dutchman” and Wayne Rooney provided Manchester United with the bulk of its attack during last season’s campaign; however, injuries kept both players away from the field for a while which caused the whole team to suffer. A healthy Van Persie and Rooney can only mean danger for opposing defenses as they are one of the most dangerous forward tandems next to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool FC.

Lastly, it's Manchester United. Money seems to be a non-issue for the club and its front office. Being one of the most popular soccer teams in the world has its perks, and talented players want to come to Old Trafford and win both UEFA League and English Premier League Championships. As long as the money does not run dry, Manchester United will return to their old self and win the English Premier League Championship.
