If you didn't catch Mexico vs. Cameroon on TV, you didn't miss much from Cameroon. Poor defending and a slow, lethargic offense highlighted their match. However, even in a relatively poor match, there were certain bright spots from the team. Find out how each player did for Cameroon.

Charles Itandje had a tough task ahead of him, having to stop the goalscoring ability of Oribe Peralta and Giovanni dos Santos. However, he was one of the best players on the field. He managed to stop a number of Mexican opportunities with excellent reflexes and sound decisions. The goal scored wasn't his fault. 8 out of 10 for Itandje.

Cedric Djeugoue came in as the surprise addition to the starting lineup, but he came out during halftime because of a truly poor performance. He was never able to involve himself offensively, and he was a mess defensively. Miguel Layun was a constant source of danger precisely because of Djeugoue's poor defensive output. 5 out of 10 for the Cameroonian right-back.

In what was a bad game for the Cameroonian defense, Nicolas N'koulou was their best defender. Oribe Peralta could never manage to get past him, and he covered the mistakes Djeugoue as best as he could. His only mistake was not getting to Peralta in time for the goal. N'koulou receives a 7 out of 10.

A player of Aurelien Chedjou's quality should be asked to play a lot better than he did today. Giovanni dos Santos focused his attacks on Chedjou's side and the Galatasary defender suffered a lot. He was never able to guard the Mexican attack and did little to bother any Mexican near him. 5.5 out of 10 for Chedjou.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto is one of Cameroon's most experienced players, and he showed that today. When Cameroon had trouble playing out of the Mexican pressure, Assou-Ekotto always provided help on the left flank. His crosses never produced anything, though, and his defense suffered when dos Santos was on his side. It was a perfectly average night for Assou-Ekotto, leading to a 6.5 out of 10.

When you play for a big club like Barcelona, big things are expected of you. Alex Song was never able to live up to the expectations. He was never able to control Giovanni dos Santos when he dropped back, and he did very little to help lift Cameroon when they went down 0-1. He was subbed out to give Cameroon more offensive weight. It was an average 6 out of 10 night for Song.

CM - Stephane M'bia

By far, Stephane M'bia was Cameroon's best player. Whenever Cameroon decided to go on the attack, the ball would always go through M'bia. He was the only player for Cameroon who was able to get past the Mexican defense or make the right pass. That said, he was too complacent on the defense. 8 out of 10 for M'bia.

It was a poor night for Eyong Enoh. Oftentimes players in his position go unnoticed throughout the match but can give brilliant performances. Enoh went unnoticed, but only because he did little to nothing. He let Hector Herrera and Giovanni dos Santos go by him with ease and was never on time with his coverages. 5 out of 10 for Enoh.

RW - Benjamin Moukandjo

Although the lineups all listed Benjamin Moukandjo as another forward, he was asked to constantly go back and defend the attacks of Miguel Layun. And considering Layun was able to get past him every time, he did little to help on defense. When Cameroon had the ball, though, Moukandjo was never able to take advantage of his speed and strength. A score of 6 out of 10 for Moukandjo.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting had all the tools to be able to cause some serious damage to the Mexican defense, but he was too inconsistent. His speed, strength and size bothered Paul Aguilar, but that only came a couple of times throughout the match. He could have and should have done much better today. 6.5 out of 10 for Chuopo-Moting.

ST - Samuel Eto'o

Unfortunately for Samuel Eto'o, he was too often left alone to battle against the three Mexican center-backs. He still managed to cause some damage, with one shot that grazed the post, and he always held up the ball at the right times. But there's little one can do when you're the only forward in the game. 7 out of 10 for Samuel Eto'o.

Sub - Dany Nounkeu

Dany Nounkeu played the entire second half to try and heal the terrible Cameroonian defense of the first half. The defense managed to get on its feet again during the second half, but it was more a product of the more attacking nature of their tactics rather than Nounkeu's entrance. He didn't let Layun cross the ball as freely, but he also suffered when Marco Fabian entered the game. It was a 6 out 10 performance for Nounkeo.

Pierre Webo went in for Alex Song to give Cameroon more offensive weight, but the midfield never provided Webo with any decent opportunities. Much like Eto'o, he was left along to battle with the defenders and was never able to get in good position for a goal. 6 out of 10 for Webo.
