Liverpool: New Signings Can Guarantee League Title
Last season, Liverpool missed out on the Premier League title by just two points. Now, they are undergoing a complete makeover in the hunt of a league championship as well as success in the UEFA Champions League. With the sale of Luis Suarez and the signing of four hungry players ahead of the new season, success is the only option.
First, there is Adam Lallana, the man who shone for Southampton last season and even played some minutes in the World Cup for England. He is an attacking midfielder who can connect with teammates with a tough pass that evades traffic. Lallana has a knack for scoring goals when presented with the opportunity, which simply adds to his skillset. When it comes to brilliant signings of youth, Lallana is a perfect example.
Rickie Lambert, 32, played with Lallana last season at Southampton as a striker. He joins Liverpool this late in his career to score the important goals without trying to impress everyone. The fact that he is a longtime fan of the club proves that he will do his best to bring success back to Anfield. He may not start every game, but whenever he gets the chance to play, fans will be in for a show.
Then there’s Emre Can, the 20-year-old former Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen central midfielder who is expected to replace Steven Gerrard as the long-term starter. The youngster is not afraid to make the toughest tackle to break up a play, and can dictate matters on both ends of the ball. He is a younger version of Nuri Sahin (former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder who plays for Borussia Dortmund now), but a little bit stronger and more aggressive. Can will start alongside Gerrard to not only learn how to take the reins, but also begin to experience life in the Premier League.
The last signing that Liverpool have made thus far is none other than the 20-year-old Serbian international winger, Lazar Markovic. The former Benfica player enjoyed his first season in Portugal before being called over to Anfield. His speed, strength, vision and ability to hold on to possession make him the dangerous playmaker and scorer that he is. His intensity, never-ending energy and desire will push the rest of his new teammates to join him in the fight for every title.
All four signings are capable of starting together for Liverpool. It will take time for them to get used to each other, but when they finally do, they will create something special for the team, management and the fans.
