After losing several key players during this summer’s transfer window, Atletico Madrid looked to reload. The loss of Felipe Luis, David Villa and Diego Costa hurt Diego Simeone and his team, but they have since been active in signing replacements. Two players Atletico Madrid signed were forward Mario Mandzukic and winger Antoine Griezmann.

Atletico Madrid will look to repeat last year’s season by winning La Liga and making the finals in the UEFA Champions League. The addition of Griezmann has the makings of a great one. Griezmann, a French winger who impressed many at the 2014 World Cup, had not just Atletico Madrid interested but many other suitors including Tottenham of the English Premier League.

Griezmann arrived to Atletico Madrid from Real Sociedad for a reported £24 million. After a strong season last year by scoring 16 goals for his club, Atletico Madrid will look to compete with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for the best attack in La Liga.

At 23, Griezmann has plenty of soccer left in him, and with this campaign at Atletico Madrid, he might become one of the best soccer players in the world. The Frenchman has intangibles and the speed to make him one of the dangerous players in La Liga, outside of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. With Griezmann and Mandzukic now on Atletico Madrid, Simeone may have a better team than last season and could repeat again.
