Real Madrid Have the Best Attack in Football On Paper
After such an impressive season in which Real Madrid won the Champions League, they went out and invested heavily in the club. Cristiano Ronaldo has continued his impressive form and scored 31 goals for them last season. The addition of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur also proved quite fruitful after he scored an additional 15 goals for the club. Real Madrid have sought out the services of James Rodriguez for the upcoming season after such an impressive showing at the World Cup held in Brazil. Rodriguez finished the tournament as the top scorer with six goals. The talented Colombian also scored nine goals for his former team AS Monaco last season, helping them to a second place finish behind Paris Saint Germain.
With what could be considered to be the three most attacking players in the world today, Real Madrid have one of, if not the best attacking trio in the world. Many might not even take into consideration Karim Bemzema when thinking of the wealth of attacking talent that have Real Madrid because of his inconsistency, but the French international scored 17 goals for the team last season and was sometimes the crucial player for the team in the rare times when Ronaldo would not perform.
Other teams around the world boast amazing attacking lineups also such as Barcelona with Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar, but the difference between Real Madrid and any other attacking lineup is the versatility provided in any situation possible. Ronaldo, Bale and Rodriguez can play either in the center, on the right or on the left. These players are comfortable in any attacking position in which they are placed.
While we have not seen them play together yet, on paper no one can dispute the quality seen with Real Madrid. But we must also realize that a team on paper and a team on the pitch are certainly two different things.
