Frank Lampard has left Chelsea FC and will join New York City FC for the upcoming season. With the MLS season concluding in October and the new season not slated to start until next March, Manchester City has taken the opportunity to sign Lampard on loan until January. Recently, Lampard stated that he would never play for another top-flight team in England, but it seems that is not the case now. Lampard is still a world-class midfielder and City will be happy to have him on board.
The former Chelsea man played at the highest level both on the club and international stage. Some are speculating that he was forced out of the club after the arrival of Cesc Fabregas, but others are confident that his time playing football at the top level has just come to an end. Lampard has played for Chelsea for over a decade making over 649 appearances and scoring 211 goals for the club, making him their club record goalscorer. Even though many would think that taking his talents to NYCFC would be a step down, Lampard seems confident that making that move could be something positive for himself, even in the last few years of his career.
As Lampard joins Manchester City until January, the world-class midfielder brings his tenacious and aggressive attitude and his winning mentality to a club where it would be put to use. The midfielder is known for his amazing passing skills and his excellent goal-scoring form. He will be a great addition to a midfield that already boasts the likes of Yaya Toure, David Silva, Fernandinho and Samir Nasri. The depth and class that Manchester City now has can be considered one of the best in the Premier League. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to see this team as they spring into action.
